Future Tasmania is a not-for-profit, non-party-political organization that promotes education, research and transition toward sustainable futures. Our series of conferences explores options to preserve Tasmania's unique natural resources and rural heritage, while at the same time creating a thriving, locally-based economy. This conference will culminate in a goal-setting session that fosters critical thinking, fresh ideas and vision-sharing, and practical solutions toward a better future.

We support education, research and discussion on sustainable futures by means of:
- Organizing an annual conference on different aspects of Tasmanian Futures.
- Moderating an email chat group. It can be accessed at futuretasmania@googlegroups.com.
- Creating a seminar series for 2007 to support Tasmanians interested in becoming a member of, or starting, an economic cooperative. As well as finding local experts, we can bring speakers from interstate for this series, so that we can access expertise and provide on-going support to seminar participants.
- Forming a regular study circle for people interested in sharing information and finding out more about sustainable resource management, cooperatives, decentralized economics and regional control.
- Providing consultants on the issues listed, above.
- Developing a publications network in relation to articles, books, films and other documents related to sustainable futures.
- Organizing film nights and other activities.
Full-time student/Unemployed: $10 per year
Part-time employed: $15 per year
Fully waged: $20 per year
Absolutely free of financial stress: $25 per year.
Members are entitled to a 10% discount on all Future Tasmania events.
An annual meeting is open to all members.
