Future Tasmania presents two awards each year. We have also received acknowledgment for our work in the community. Awards Presented Future Tasmania presents two awards every year:
Carolyn Parsons Annual Youth “Environmental and Social Justice Excellence” Award
This annual award has two categories - individual and school.
We are looking for students who, through their own or school initiative, have done something positive towards making Tasmania a great place to live. Fill in the attached application form outlining your initiative for environmental or social justice awareness.

Applications close on Friday 2 October 2009. Winners are expected to present their entry at an Award ceremony to be held in Term 3.
You can demonstrate your project through a variety of ways, including, but not limited to
For initial judging purposes please attach your project to the application form; however if it is a model or some other type of presentation that can not be emailed, please attach a photo etc instead. Whatever you send to us may be retained for future use. Although presentation is important, the judges will be looking more at the content of your work. We are looking for independent, sustainable ideas . The decision of the judges is final.

Future Tasmania Citizenship Award This award recognises the long-term contribution of an outstanding Tasmanian in the areas of social, cultural and environmental activism, innovation, advocacy or leadership. Individuals are particularly likely to be acknowledged with this award if their work has been previously unrecognised, or under-recognised, or if their contribution is in a purely voluntary capacity. In addition, activities that have been ground-breaking, have required courage and persistence and have created positive outcomes with widespread good, or the good of the community now and in the future, are particularly likely to be acknowledged. If you would like to nominate any individual for this award for 2009, please contact 2007 Future Tasmania Citizenship Award Winner: Dr. Alison Bleaney, St. Helens, Tasmania: This award recognises the long-term contribution of an outstanding Tasmanian in the areas of social, cultural and environmental activism, innovation, advocacy or leadership. The inagural recipient of the Future Tasmania Citizenship Award, presented at the Launceston Conference in recognition of her commitment to the health of the St. Helen’s community was Dr. Alison Bleaney.
Awards Received Future Tasmania is proud to have received a Certificate of Merit in the Hobart City Council’s Edward Hall Environment Awards in 2007. This was in recognition of our 2006 Conference: Water, Food & Forests. |
